The makers of GOAT, aka, Greatest Of All Time, released a special teaser with action-packed scenes on his 50th birthday. With Thalapathy Vijay in the lead and an ensemble of characters, GOAT is a science fiction film, written and directed by Venkat Prabhu.
The teaser begins with the caption, “It’s time to see the unseen” and runs for just 50 seconds, completely packed with action, gun fires, bike and car chasing in a foreign land. Asking the fans and friends of Vijay to get ready, the birthday shot teaser shows him in a dual role. With a stubble and rugged beard, Vijay rides the bike in one role, while in another he is riding a pillion appearing clean-shaven and raises his hand with a gun. The teaser concludes with a message from the makers, “Happy Birthday The GOAT.”
Vijay is seen playing a dual role in the racy teaser as he rides a bike in the streets of Russia, fighting the chasers. A Yuvan Shankar Raja musical, the background score in the teaser adds much thrill to the action sequences.
The makers also released the film’s second single - Chinna Chinna kangal - as a special tribute to music maestro Ilayaraja’s daughter Bhavatharini. Yuvan Shankar Raja featured her AI-generated voice along with Vijay’s vocals. Vijay who is known for singing upbeat songs, after a long time has lent his voice for a melody. The song is all set to top the playlists in every music platform, for Vijay’s voice.
“The second single from, The Greatest Of All Time, is very special for me. Words cannot do justice to describe this feeling. When we were composing this song in Bangalore, Venkat Prabhu and I felt this song is for my sister and at that time I thought to myself once she’s better and out of the hospital we can record her voice. But, an hour later I got the news that she’s no more. I never imagined I would be using her voice like this. I would like to sincerely thank my music team & all the people involved in the process of making this happen. It is a very bittersweet moment for me,” Yuvan Shankar Raja wrote on X, as he released the second single.
The sci-fi film with Vijay as the lead also has Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Ajmal Ameer, Sneha and others. The makers of GOAT have used de-ageing technology for one of the characters played by Vijay to make him look younger. GOAT is all set to hit the screens on September 5.
The film is the most anticipated among the Vijay fans at a time when he had taken the political plunge. His fans also feel that this might be his last film as he would get into active politics and prepare for the 2026 assembly polls in Tamil Nadu.
