Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal are set to exchange wedding vows at a private ceremony on Sunday evening.
Their close family members, including Sonakshi's parents, Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha, will attend the wedding. Her twin brothers, Luv Sinha and Kush Sinha, will also be present.
The registered marriage will be held at Zaheer's house on Carter Road, Mumbai. His father, Iqbal Ratansi, told Free Press Journal that it will be a civil marriage as per Special Marriage Act, 1954, and "will have neither Hindu or Muslim rituals."
Dismissing rumours about Sonakshi converting to Islam, Zaheer's father said, “She is not converting and that is for sure. Theirs is a union of hearts and religion has no role to play whatsoever. I believe in humanity. God is called Bhagwan by Hindus and Allah by Muslims. But at the end of the day, we are all human beings. My blessings are with Zaheer and Sonakshi."
The wedding ceremony will be followed by a party at Mumbai's Bastian restaurant at 8pm, where celebrities are expected to grace the bash.
The couple first met each other at a party hosted by Salman Khan. Interestingly, Sonakshi made her Bollywood debut with Salman-starrer 'Dabangg' (2010) while Zaheer debuted in 'Notebook' (2019), which was produced by the superstar. The couple then co-starred in the 2022 movie, 'Double XL'. The couple made their first public appearance together at the Eid bash of Aayush Sharma and Arpita Khan.
A puja was held at Shatrughan Sinha's Mumbai home Ramayana on Saturday night where Sonakshi was seen in a blue salwar suit and flaunting the intricate mehendi designs on her hands. On Friday, during the mehendi ceremony, Zaheer was donning a printed red kurta and white pyjama while Sonakshi sported a matching red suit.
On Thursday, Zaheer was seen with Shatrughan in Bandra as they posed for the paparazzi.
During her bachelorette party, Sonakshi was spotted with her close friend and actor, Huma Qureshi.
