Fans of Amazon Prime Video shows Panchayat and Mirzapur were an excited lot ahead of the release of the latter's Season 3. The reason was Mirzapur actor Ali Fazal's (playing Guddu Pandit) remarks ahead of the new season, wherein he claimed in an interview with ANI that Panchayat protagonist Abhishek Tripathi aka Sachiv ji will be part of the show as part of a cross-promotion.

Fazal said Sachiv ji's character will enter Mirzapur universe to handle the paperwork related to the death of Pankaj Tripathi's character Kaleen Bhaiya.
However, when Mirzapur Season 3 was released on Amazon Prime, fans were left disappointed as Sachiv ji was nowhere to be seen in the new season of the show. And that's not just the viewers of Mirzapur, but also that fans of Panchayat who were waiting to see their favourite protagonist ahead of Season 4 release. In May, director Deepak Kumar Mishra had revealed that they have started working on Season 4 while Season 5 is also on the anvil.
When asked about Fazal's remarks, Jitendra Kumar, who plays Sachiv ji, told Pinkvilla that he was not aware of the exact statement made by the Mirzapur actor. He said Fazal's remarks might be regarding the portrayal of violence and election themes.
But some fans are still hoping that the makers will come up with some kind of crossover on both the shows as their respective Season 4 installments could be expected in a couple of years. However, THE WEEK cannot independently confirm if any of these expectations would materialise until there is an official announcement.
