The extremely glamours, months-long, and star-studded wedding of Anant Ambani, the youngest son of billionaire businessman Mukesh Ambani, and Radhika Merchant, daughter of pharma tycoons Viren and Shaila Merchant, is indeed an expensive affair.

According to media reports, the months-long festivities cost Rs 5,000 crore. This, however, is merely 0.05 per cent of the Ambani family's net worth.

Ahead of the wedding, employees of Reliance received gifts. Many of them took to social media to post pictures of the gifts that came in a red box with gold lettering. The text on the box read: “With the divine grace of our devis and devtas, we celebrate the wedding of Anant and Radhika. With best wishes, Nita and Mukesh Ambani."

The wedding will take place at the Jio World Convention Center in Mumbai's Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) on Friday. This will be followed by dinner receptions in the next few days.

As per the schedule, the wedding process will start at 3 pm. The varmala ceremony will take place at 8 pm. The pheras—one of the most important rituals in the wedding—will happen at 9.30 pm.

The weddings of other children of Mukesh Ambani and his wife, Nita were lavish affairs too. Beyonce performed at daughter Isha Ambani's 2018 nuptials that boasted of guests like Hillary Clinton and John Kerry. A year later, Coldplay's Chris Martin performed at Akash's pre-wedding bash in St Moritz, Switzerland and Maroon 5 at his wedding in Mumbai.

According to reports, the Ambani family had spent more than Rs 700 crore for three events in Italy, Rajasthan, and Mumbai for Isha Ambani's wedding with Anand Piramal.
