Rajasthan and its capital Jaipur have been a favourite destination of Bollywood for a long. From cult classic Mughal-e-Azam (1960), shot in the picturesque Amer fort, Kesar Kyari, Dalaram Bagh and Kanak Ghati garden in Jaipur to super-hit Bajirao Mastani (2015), the forts and heritage sites of Rajasthan have been a background for numerous movies not only in Hindi movie industry but local languages too.

Here is the list of a few B-Town hits shot in Jaipur.

Ekalavya (2007) 
Udaipur, Jaipur

This action drama film, directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, was primarily shot at Devigarh Fort Palace on the outskirts of Jaipur. The indoor sequences of the movie, which had Amitabh Bachchan playing the eponymous royal guard of Devigarh Palace, were shot in the royal rooms of the Jaipur City Palace. Parts of the movie were set in the now-popular Heritage Hotel.

 Bhool Bhulaiya (2007) 
Chomu Palace, Jaipur

The horror-comedy, starring Vidya Balan and Akshay Kumar, was filmed in a 300-year-old haveli in Jaipur, India called 'Chomu Palace'. Portions of the Priyadarshan directorial were shot in the famed City Palace too. The palace, a perfect mix of grandeur and modernistic amenities,  best destination wedding venue in Jaipur. Another movie 'Bol Bachhan' was also shot at this palace.

Jodha Akbar (2008) 
Jaipur, Ajmer

Jodhaa

This epic romance drama was shot in Amber Fort, Jaipur, which features Jodhaa's maternal home. The part where the kings meet to discuss Akbar's proposal was shot at Ajmer's Roopangarh Palace. The Kishangarh Fort at Ajmer, nestled amidst the Aravali hills, was also a location for this hit period drama. The Phool Mahal Palace Hotel at Kishangarh also became a location.

I am Kalam (2010)

Kalam

Not just period dramas, even an off-beat child-centric movie had Rajasthan as its backdrop. Portions of it were shot at Karni Mata Temple in the town of Deshnoke, located 30 km south of Bikaner. This is also one of the most popular tourist locations in the state.

Padmavati (2018) 
Chittorgarh

Padmavati

The movie was shot at the Chittorgarh Fort in Rajasthan, one of the largest forts in India. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this Fort had 84 water bodies. However, only 22 of them exist today. The famous dance sequence Ghoomar was shot in Rani Padmini Palace in Chittorgarh while portions were shot in Jauhar Kund and Vijay Stamb.
