In light of the Wayanad landslide that claimed over 250 lives, Popular movie actors Vikram and Rashmika Mandanna made donations to the Kerala Chief Minister's Disaster Relief Fund (CMDRF). Rashmika Mandanna made a contribution of Rs 10 lakh to the CMDRF while Tamil superstar Vikram contributed Rs 20 lakh.
"Pained by the sad news of the devastation caused by the recent landslide in Kerala's #Wayanad district that left over 150 people dead, 197 injured and several others missing, Actor @chiyaan today donated a sum of Rs 20 lakhs to the Kerala Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund," Vikram's publicist Yuvraaj said on X.

Earlier, Tamil actors Suriya, Karthi and Jyothika had together made a contribution of Rs 50 lakhs. "#WayanadLandslide my thoughts and prayers with the families.. Heartbreaking..! Massive landslides triggered by torrential rains hit Mundakkai, Chooralmala, Attamala, and Noolpuzha hamlets of Wayanad in the early hours of Tuesday, killing at least 280 people, including women and children, so far.
Rahul, Priyanka visit Wayanad
Congress leader and former Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi and his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra visited the landslide-affected area of Chooralmala on Thursday afternoon.
After reaching the spot amidst the rain, Gandhi and his sister left for the Community Health Centre in Meppadi, party sources said. From there, the two will then proceed to Dr Moopen's Medical College and two relief camps at Meppadi, they said. AICC general secretary and Alappuzha MP K C Venugopal is also accompanying them.

Rahul Gandhi, who won from the Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency in the 2019 general elections, had again won from here this year. However, as he also won from the Raebareli LS seat in Uttar Pradesh, he gave up the Wayanad constituency from where Priyanka is expected to contest when a by-election is held. Rahul and Priyanka landed at Kannur airport at 9.30 am and then travelled to Wayanad by road.
