The makers of Vijay-starrer Greatest of All Time (GOAT) on Saturday released the trailer of the film. The two minute 51 seconds trailer introduces Vijay as "a hostage negotiator, a spy and a man who had successfully completed 68 international missions."
'Thalapathy', as he is known among his fans, fights the baddies, inside a train, in the air and on water to save the nation.
The trailer shows Vijay in a dual role - father and son. But it seems, there will be more surprises, with Vijay in a triple role, a very young version of Vijay. Once director Venkat Prabhu had tweeted saying that the fans will definitely have a treat watching Vijay in a never seen role.
The trailer is packed with action, shooting, car and bike chasing, heated arguments among friends and shows Vijay facing trouble when in Bangkok. It shows an ensemble cast of Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Mohan, Jayaram, Sneha, Laila and YG Mahendran.
In one scene, Vijay says, ‘inime kudikave koodathu’ (I should not drink anymore). And this seems to be a signature dialogue in all Venkat Prabhu’s movies. We heard Ajith say the same in his film Mankatha in 2011.
At the end of then trailer, Vijay looks casual and sings, ‘Marudhamalai maamaniye murgaiya,’ reminding fans of his Ghilli days.
Earlier in a media interview he had said that Vijay plays the role of RAW agent. He said that Vijay is part of Special Anti-Terrorist Squad (SATS), a wing in RAW.
While the fans are happy seeing Vijay in a older and a younger role, GOAT trailer reminds us of Vijay’s Leo and Kamal Hassan’s Vikram. The film is set to release on September 5.
