Harry Potter fans booed in disappointment when no announcement was made for the Hogwarts Express at King's Cross station on Sunday. People gathered at the station, in order to celebrate the Harry Potter books, hoping to hear the announcement as happened in J.K. Rowling's book.
As part of a tradition in previous years, an announcement was made over the loudspeakers saying that the Hogwarts Express would be leaving from Platform 9¾ at King's Cross at 11 am.
However, this year, Warner Bros Discovery decided not to do so. A statement on the Wizarding World website said that the fans were not to go to the station.

Despite the company's alert, Harry Potter fans turned up at King's Cross and filmed the departure board. Videos of the fans booing when the regular train information was made surfaced the social media.

"Come 1st September, fans are strongly discouraged from attending King's Cross this year, as there will be no event, departure board or countdown at the station," it said.
“Instead, we’ve recruited our resident Hufflepuff (and current King of the Jungle) Sam Thompson to be with you all in spirit once again in a specially recorded online programme made in celebration of Back to Hogwarts. Head to the official Harry Potter YouTube channel to watch along with us at 11 am to see him in action," it further added.
Earlier actor Miriam Margolyes, who played the role of Professor Pomona Sprout in the series, had urged the adult fans to “grow up” and “get over it”. “It was 25 years ago and I think it’s for children,” she had said.
