Mollywood sex scandal: Woman claims Nivin Pauly sexually abused her, case filed

The woman claimed that Nivin Pauly abused her when they were abroad

In what comes as another shock, popular Malayalam movie actor Nivin Pauly is accused of sexually abusing a woman.

According to media reports, the woman claimed that Nivin Pauly abused her when they were abroad. She claimed that the actor abused her, after promising her a role in a movie.

The incident reportedly happened in Dubai in November. Nivin Pauly is the sixth accused in the case. An SIT will probe the allegations against the actor.

A case has been registered against the actor under non-bailable offence in Ernakulam district of Kerala. 

A woman, named Shreya, is the first accused in the case. It was this woman who reportedly took the victim to Dubai, promising her a role in the movie. 

Ever since the Justice K Hema Committee, constituted by the Kerala government after the 2017 actress assault case, released its report revealing instances of harassment and exploitation of women in the Malayalam cinema industry, several people have come forward, recounting the abuse they faced from prominent names in the industry.

Besides Nivin Pauly, the film personalities who are accused in cases of sexual assault or harassment include actors Sidhique, Jayasurya, Mukesh, Maniyanpilla Raju, Idavela Babu and director Ranjith.
