Sexual abuse case against Nivin Pauly: Vineeth Sreenivasan vouches for 'Premam' actor's innocence, presence in Kochi

Two days after Malayalam movie actor Nivin Pauly was accused of sexually abusing a woman, Vineeth Sreenivan, a multi-faceted star of Mollywood, has come forward in the actor's defence. According to Vineeth, he can present evidence to prove Nivin Pauly's innocence as he was on the sets of his directorial 'Varshangalkku Sesham' on the days mentioned in the woman's complaint.

Vineeth Sreenivasan, a noted singer, actor and director of Mollywood, said that Nivin Pauly was on the sets of his movie on December 14 and 15 of 2023.

Confirming that he was in Nivin's company till 3:00 am on December 15, Vineeth, son of noted Malayalam actor-director Sreenivasan, said the shooting occurred in Kochi's ABAD Nucleus Mall. Later that day, the location shifted to Crown Plaza in the city which lasted till the early hours of the next day.

Vineeth Sreenivasan told Malayalam news channel Reporter that the actor then left for the sets of Disney+ Hotstar series 'Pharma', which was also in Kerala. Most of the aforementioned sets were in public and many people could vouch for Nivin Pauly's presence, he added.

Nivin made his debut in 'Malarvaadi Arts Club', which was directed by Vineeth Sreenivasan. 

The revelations gains signifance as the woman had claimed 39-year-old Nivin Pauly had abused her in Dubai after promising her a role in a movie.

Sexual abuse case against Nivin Pauly

Nivin Pauly is the sixth accused in the case. A case has been registered against the actor under non-bailable offence in Ernakulam district of Kerala. 

Dismissing the allegations, the 'Kayamkulam Kochunni' star had said that he will take necessary steps to bring those responsible to light.

“I have come across a false news report accusing me of abusing a girl. Please know that this is entirely untrue. I’m determined to go to any extent to prove these allegations are baseless and will take all necessary steps to bring those responsible to light. Thank you for your concern. The rest will be handled legally,” Pauly said.

Later, addressing the media, the actor said he had never met the woman who filed the complaint against him.
