Indian-origin rapper Hanumankind was among the artistes who performed before the Indian diaspora at the 'Modi and US' event at the Nassau Coliseum in New York on Sunday. Following his performance, viral videos showing Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeting and hugging the rapper went rounds on social media platforms.

Hanumankind became a social media sensation after his viral song, 'Big Dawgs', hit the Top 10 Billboard charts. He performed the viral song once again before PM Modi on Sunday as a 15,000-strong crowd cheered. Following this Modi greeted the rapper, saying, 'Jai Hanuman' and embraced him.

Devi Sri Prasad and Aditya Gadhvi also performed during the event. A group of artistes performed traditional Karanataka folk dance Yakshagana while Tamil-origin artistes played the musical instrument Parai during the event. 

Modi took to X, saying, "After programmes in Delaware, landed in New York. Eager to be among the diaspora at the community programme in the city and to take part in other programmes."

During his three-day visit, Modi met US President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden, took part in the Quad Summit and held key bilateral meetings. On Monday, he will attend a CEO Roundtable and address the Summit of the Future.

On Sunday, Modi gifted an antique silver train model to Biden and a Kashmiri Pashmina shawl to the First Lady.
