Hours after he shot his first letter to his party cadres, inviting them to his first public conference to spell out his party ideologies and political path, Tamil actor-politician Vijay's 69th film went to the floors. The production of the superstar's so-called final film began with a Pooja ceremony.
Directed by H Vinoth, the film tentatively titled 'Thalapathy 69' features popular actors like Prakash Raj, Pooja Hegde, Priya Mani and Gautam Vasudev Menon. For the first time, Priya Mani, Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju and Narain will be on board with Vijay.
'Thalapathy 69' reunites Vijay with Prakash Raj after 'Varisu', Pooja Hegde after 'Beas't and Gautam Vasudev Menon after 'Leo'. While Anirudh Ravichander will helm Thalapathy 69's music, the rest of the technical crew is likely to be announced soon.

It is expected that 'Thalapathy 69' will be a commercial film, but likely to talk politics as it will be Vijay's last film before his getting into active politics ahead of the assembly elections. With the tagline, "torch bearer of democracy" it is expected to talk about Vijay's political path in the near future.
Actor Vijay recently launched his political party - Thamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam(TVK) and its first public rally is scheduled to be held on October 27 at V Salai near Vikravandi, 250 kms north of Chennai.
Despite his political ambitions, 'Thalapathy' Vijay remains the most successful Tamil star whose films gross Rs. 300 crore just within a week after their release. His latest, 'GOAT', directed by Venkat Prabhu collected Rs 250.16 crores in the worldwide box office within 25 days of its release. Though it had a weak script and screenplay, it was a treat for his ardent followers.
