In his statement to police, Khan had said he and his family had received several other threats in recent years.

Later in June, Navi Mumbai police foiled an attempt to murder the actor following a tip-off that 60-70 men related to the Bishnoi gang were watching the actor’s movements. The gang had reportedly ordered AK-47 guns from Pakistan and had conducted recces to allegedly kill the actor. The Bishnoi gang is targeting the actor for his alleged role in the Blackbuck hunting case.
