Actor Oviya Helen filed a complaint with the Chennai Police on Wednesday against the circulation of fake videos on social media which the alleged perpetrators claimed to be her "leaked private" scenes.

The fake videos were created and widely circulated on X (formerly Twitter) purposefully to insult Oviya, the actor's manager told the press while confirming her decision to move legally against it.

According to a Times Of India (TOI) report, Oviya's complaint named one Thariq, someone whom she used to be friends with. The Kerala-native actor distanced herself from him when his behaviour became unacceptable. According to the news report, the complaint claimed that Thariq orchestrated the leak of morphed videos of Oviya online in an act of revenge. Thariq possesses several videos and morphed images of other women as well, the actor reportedly said in her complaint.

The Big Boss fame has not issued an official statement regarding the developments. However, she had earlier responded bravely to cyber bullies who showed up with sleazy and taunting comments on Instagram.
