Actress Radhika Apte made headlines at the BFI London Film Festival during the screening of her latest film, Sister Midnight, where she hinted at her pregnancy.
She shared pictures of herself and the cast and crew at the event on her Instagram and captioned the post, “SISTER MIDNIGHT UK Premier #lff2024”, choosing not to directly mention her baby bump.
The actress was seen donning a black off-shoulder, bodycon midi dress with a bold red lip and her hair in a sleek bun. Social media was buzzing with excitement as fans quickly reacted to her post, with one user exclaiming, “Omg!!! She’s pregnant, how exciting!” while another commented “Congratulations superstar!! you look fabulous and such beautiful news”.
Apte and British violinist and composer Benedict Taylor tied the knot in 2012.
Apte's last big-screen appearance was a cameo in the film Merry Christmas, starring Vijay Sethupathi and Katrina Kaif.
Her upcoming film, Sister Midnight, premiered earlier this year at the Cannes Film Festival.
Sister Midnight is set in Mumbai, where two newlyweds, Uma (Apte) and Gupta (Ashok Pathak), face difficulties. Uma is vulgar and rude and is unable to take on basic household chores, while her husband is soft-spoken and timid.
The comedy-drama, directed by Karan Kandhari, explores the stereotypical Indian role of a husband and wife, but with the roles reversed.
Apte is also set to star in a revenge thriller series, Akka, alongside Keerthy Suresh.
