Venom: The Last Dance, Do Patti, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga: OTT and theatre releases this week | Oct 21 – 27

'Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga' is making its way to the small screen after a successful box-office run, and Malayalam film 'Pani', Joju George's directional debut, is set to hit the big screens this week

Venom: The Last Dance, featuring Marvel's favourite anti-hero, will make its final appearance in theatres this week. Meanwhile, the Hindi thriller-mystery film Do Patti, starring Kajol and Kriti Sanon, will be released on Netflix.

Do Patti is a thriller-mystery centering on Vidya Jyothi, an ambitious police officer determined to solve a complex case involving twin sisters, Saumya and Shailee. Saumya seemed to be living the perfect life, especially in her happy relationship with Dhruv, until the unwanted arrival of her twin sister changed everything. Directed by Shashanka Chaturvedi, the film stars Kajol, Kriti Sanon, Shaheer Sheikh, Tanvi Azmi, and Vivek Mushran.

The Bikeriders

Directed by Jeff Nichols, The Bikeriders is inspired by the Chicago Outlaws Motorcycle Club, as seen in Danny Lyon's 1968 photography book The Bikeriders. Spanning over a decade, the film follows the life of a motorcycle gang, the Vandals, and their slow move into the crime underworld that transforms them into a sinister gang. The film features Jodie Comer, Tom Hardy, Austin Butler, Norman Reedus, and Mike Faist.

Zwigato

Zwigato is a social drama that focuses on the deteriorated lives of the common man. Manas used to work at a factory until he lost his job during the pandemic. He later becomes a delivery boy for Zwigato, while his wife Pratima starts working as a cleaner at a mall. The film delves deep into the underlying struggles of the working class to sustain their livelihood. Directed by Nandita Das, the film stars Kapil Sharma, Shahana Goswami, Sayani Gupta, Neelambari Bhattacharya, and Swanand Kirkire.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga

Directed by George Miller, Furiosa is the prequel to the Mad Max saga, this time based on the origins of the fierce Furiosa, a killer warrior. Warlord Dementus snatches the young Furiosa from her homeland in the Green Place of Many Mothers. She fights hard to make it home amidst a brutal power struggle between two rival forces. The film features Anya Taylor-Joy, Chris Hemsworth, Nicholas Hault, Elsa Pataky, and Tom Burke.

In the third and final Venom movie, Eddie Brock and Venom encounter Knull, an Eldritch God of darkness and the king of symbiotes, which forces them to stay at large. Along the way, they make a heart-wrenching decision that will change everything. Directed by Kelly Marcel, the film features Tom Hardy, Juno Temple, Peggy Lu, Rhys Ifans, and Chiwetel Ejiofor.

Pani

Release date: October 24

Pani is a Malayalam language thriller, directed by and starring Joju George. The film revolves around a happy couple, Giri and Gauri, whose lives turn upside down after encountering two young men with a criminal history. The couple are involuntarily roped in to become part of the vengeance against the mobs of Thrissur. The film also stars MG Abhinaya, Sagar Surya, Junaiz V.P., Abhaya Hiranmayi and Seema.

Conclave

Directed by Edward Berger, the film goes over one of the most critical decisions made in the Catholic Church – the selection of the pope. Cardinal Lawrence is tasked with this heavy-duty, but on his journey uncovers deep secrets that could shatter the very foundation of the Roman Catholic Church. Thrayam
