Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan was not happy with the way his iconic entry scene in Karan Johar's Kabhi Kushi Kabhie Gham played out.
In the scene, Khan's character, Rahul Raichand, is seen getting off a helicopter and running towards his mother, played by Jaya Bachchan, with the main theme song of the film playing in the background.
So, why was the superstar disappointed?
In a podcast Cyrus Says, Nikkhil Advani, who served as an assistant director in the film, said that Khan was underwhelmed by the sequence, which is a fan favourite.
“When we told him that his entry in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham is with the helicopter, he thought he is going to jump off the helicopter, while he just had to step off. Karan's vision was that he steps down and as soon as his feet touches the ground, Jaya Bachchan turns, so basically the sequence is taken away by Jaya Bachchan.”
Advani went on to add that, nonetheless, it is remains one of the greatest hero entries in cinema.

Advani also pointed out an interesting feature in Khan's career, that although he has been popularily known as “King Khan” and “King of Romance”, he abhors love stories. Yet, he has a soft corner for his 1998 film Dil Se.
He went on to say that Khan would treat, even a small sequence, like the basketball scene in Johar's directional debut, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, like a whole action sequence. “He choreographed it,” Advani said.
Khan and Advani have also worked together on Aditya Kapoor's Mohabbatein.
