Fans of Mirzapur series on Amazon Prime Video have been treated to big surprise: Mirzapur the Film, which will hit the theatres in 2026. One shocking moment was when Munna Tripathi came back from the dead in the film announcement video posted by Farhan Akhtar.

In the viral video announcing the new movie, we see Kaleen Bhaiya (Pankaj Tripathi) and Guddu Pandit (Ali Fazal) breaks the fourth wall and addresses the viewers. Following, this Munna Tripathi (Divyendu Sharma) emerges from the dark in a shocking entry.

"I am a Hindi film hero. And a Hindi film is best enjoyed in a theatre," Munna asserts as he stands on the balcony of a movie theatre.

Hinting at a comeback in the upcoming movie, Munna says, "Need I remind you I am immortal. And now the throne of Mirzapur will be ruled from right here."
"We'll go all guns blazing my dear Compounder," Munna continues as the Compounder, a friend of him, emerges behind him. And the latter completes Munna's sentence, "From the first show till the last, Munna Bhaiya."
It is not clear if Mirzapur the Film will be a sequel to the Amazon Prime Video series or have a different timeline altogether. However, fans can expect some great action-oriented scenes on the big screen, keeping up with the hype created by the OTT series.
