Salman Khan death threat: Rs 2 crore demanded as ransom in new anonymous message

After receiving several death threats following NCP MLA Baba Siddique's killing, yet another message threatened to kill the actor on Tuesday if the ransom amount is not paid.

The anonymous message was sent to the Mumbai traffic control helpline number, seeking Rs 2 crore as ransom. If the amount is not paid, the unidentified person threatened to kill Salman. 

The traffic police filed a complaint regarding the death threat to Worli Police. A case was registered at the police station under BNS sections on death threat and extortion.

This comes a couple of days after a 20-year-old man from Noida was arrested in Mumbai for threatening to kill Salman and Zeeshan Siddique, the MLA son of late Baba Siddique.

Another person identified as Shaikh Hussain Shaikh Mausin, 24, was arrested for sending a message to Mumbai traffic police. The vegetable seller from Jamshedpur demanded Rs 5 crore from the actor.

Earlier, people belonging to the Bishnoi community burned the effigies of Salman and his father Salim Khan over the latter's remarks regarding the 1998 blackbuck poaching case. The animal is considered sacred by the community. 

Salman has also received threats from gangster Lawrence Bishnoi whose gang allegedly killed Baba Siddique for helping the actor. Bishnoi's gang had fired shots ouside the actor's home in Bandra, following which police had beefed up his security.
