Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who had once admitted that he would smoke around 100 cigarettes a day, surprised his fans, saying he has kicked the habit.
Shah Rukh’s big revelation came during a meet-and-greet event with fans on Saturday, a video of which has been shared by his fan page. The event was organised as part of his 59th birthday celebrations.
"There's a good thing. I'm not smoking anymore, guys,” the actor can be seen saying in the video as the crowd erupted in cheers and applause.
“I thought I won't feel so breathless after quitting smoking, but I still feel it (the side-effects). Inshallah, that will also get ok." he said.

The ‘Dunki’ actor was known for his long-standing habit of heavy smoking. In 2011, Shah Rukh humorously admitted during an interview that he would smoke around 100 cigarettes a day, drink about 30 cups of coffee, and often forget to eat or drink water.
In 2012, the actor drew flak for smoking in public during an IPL cricket match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals.
In 2017, Shah Rukh said that he was planning to quit both smoking and drinking for the sake of his children—Aryan, Suhana, and AbRam.
Meanwhile, wishes poured in from various quarters as the actor celebrated his birthday with family on Saturday. Many fans gathered outside Mannat, Shah Rukh's iconic sea-facing bungalow in Bandra.
