Actor Nivin Pauly has been given a clean chit after police investigated the sexual assault allegations levelled against him by a woman in September this year.

In the report submitted by the DySP to the First Class Magistrate Court in Kothamangalam, Nivin's name was crossed off the list of the people accused.

In the backdrop of the release of the Hema Committee Report, on September 5, an FIR was filed against the actor at Oonnukal police station in Ernakulam district under section 376 of the IPC, based on a complaint that woman had been assaulted by Nivin and his team, in Dubai, a year ago.

She claimed that the abuse occurred after the actor promised her a role in a film. It was later revealed that Nivin was the sixth accused in the case, the first one being a woman who reportedly took the complainant to Dubai. Although Nivin has been cleared, the other accused are still under investigation.

In the police report, the woman claimed that the assault took place on December 14 and 15, 2023. Popular actor, director, singer, and songwriter Vineeth Sreenivasan vouched for the actor and revealed that Nivin was in Kochi on the aforementioned dates, shooting for his directional Varshangalkku Sesham.
