Karan Johar has announced Dharma Productions next film, Chand Mera Dil. The film, starring Ananya Panday and Lakshya, is directed by Vivek Soni, and is set to release in 2025.

“We have two chands ready to bring an intense & passionate love story like no other!!!” Johar captioned a post featuring the official posters for the film.
Many fans took to the comments to express their views, with many citing 'nepotism' as the reason Ananya is cast in the film.

One user commented, “Why do you use the same cast all the time? And why Ananya in EVERYTHING? It’s SO boring now. Filmmakers really need to start thinking more strategically than through bias,” while another wrote, “That's why dharma is in loss, keep focusing on star kids whom audience don’t even like to watch”.
Despite the negative comments, many were excited to see Ananya back on the screen after the release her two films, CTRL and Call Me Bae, this year.

Ananya in spite of being all over the place, still manages to retain her vulnerability as an actor. She is so endearing on screen.”
This will be the Johar-led Dharma Productions's next film after the release of Jigra, starring Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina, which faltered at the box office. The film only managed to get an estimated Rs 55 crore worldwide, against a budget of Rs 90 crore.
