A day after AR Rahman and his wife Saira Banu announced their divorce, the musician's bassist has revealed separation from her husband.
Mohini Dey, a bassist in Rahman's troupe, and her music composer husband, Mark Hartsuch shared the news on Instagram in a joint post. The couple said their decision to go splitsville was mutual.
"With a heavy heart, Mark and I announce that we have separated. First, as a commitment to our friends and family, this is a mutual understanding between us," posted Mohini.
Mohini said they are still great friends and have decided that they want different things in life. She added that separation through mutual agreement was the best way to proceed.
Who is Mohini Dey?
Mohini Dey, 29, hails from Kolkata. She became popular with Gaan Bangla's Wind of Change. Her debut album was released in August 2023.
Mohini said the duo will continue to collaborate on their projects, including MaMoGi and Mohini Dey groups.
