'Pushpa 2: The Rule': Tickets for Allu Arjun starrer soar above Rs 2,000 in Delhi, Mumbai amid hype

Pushpa 2: The Rule, which will be released in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi and Bengali on December 5, is the most awaited film of the month. The Allu Arjun starrer has seen fans pre-booking eagerly to grab the tickets as early as possible, even at a hefty price.

The advance booking began on November 30 and strong demand for the tickets has raised the price to as high as Rs 2,400 in certain parts of the country. The tickets for the Hindi version releasing in Delhi and Mumbai was selling like hot cakes.

The PVR Director's Cut in Delhi sold the Hindi 2D tickets at Rs 2,400 while Mumbai's Maison PVR: Jio World Drive saw the tickets given away for Rs 2,100. Delhi's PVR Select City Walk had recliner seat tickets for IMAX shows being sold at Rs 1,860.

The makers of Pushpa 2: The Rule have also scheduled special shows in select theatres in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh on December 4 at 9.30 pm. The tickets cost Rs 800.

This comes as the state governments in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have approved a hike in price of tickets with the rates fixed at Rs 600 for the first four days of the release of Pushpa 2: The Rule. It will hit over 800 theatres in both the states.

On December 5, the Telangana government has given nod for two extra shows at 1 am and 4 am besides the five normal shows. Until December 8, threatres can raise the ticket prices for these two additional shows by Rs 150 and multiplexes can spike rates by Rs 200. 

The price hike will come down by Rs 105 for theatres and Rs 150 for multiplexes from December 9 to 16. Theatres can increase the price by Rs 20 and multiplexes by Rs 50 from December 17 to 23. Later, the prices will return to normal rates.

With the hype created around the movie, film analysts believe that Pushpa 2: The Rule will break box office records. The movie was produced at a budget of Rs 400-500 crore.

Allu Arjun will be seen in his iconic role of Pushpa Raj from the first movie, Pushpa: The Rise while Rashmika Mandanna portrays his love interest, Srivalli, and Fahadh Faasil will return as his antagonist, Bhanwar Singh Shekawat.
