Actor Vikrant Massey has announced retirement from acting at the age of 37 in a shocking revelation.
Before his recent release, Sabarmati Express, which minted money at the box office, Massey received critical acclaim for his performances in 12th Fail and Sector 36.
Why did Vikrant Massey retire from acting?
Vikrant Massey on Monday said he is quitting acting after 2025. Taking to Instagram, he said recalled that the last few years have been phenomenal and thanked his fans for their "indelible support."
"But as I move forward, I realise its time to recalibrate and go back home. As a Husband, Father & a Son. And also as an Actor," the post read.
Massey, however, gave a silver lining for the fans, announcing that in 2025, he will be seen on screen for one last time.
"Last 2 movies and many a years of memories. Thank you again. For everything and everything in betweem. Forever indebted," Massey concluded his post.
Massey is working on two of his final movies, Yaar Jigri and Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan.
After Massey posted his farewell message, his followers expressed their shock and disappointment. "Suddenly? Is everything alright? That's so surprising for the fans. We really like your acting and movies," wrote a fan.
Another concerned follower wrote, "Bro you are at peak... why do you think like this." A third one hoped that it's not true while yet another said they need some good cinema and there are hardly any actors like him.
Massey began his acting career on Dhoom Machao Dhoom, a TV show. After Balika Vadhu in 2009, he debuted in movies through 2013 film Lootera.
Massey first protagonist role was in A Death in the Gunj, followed by Ginny Weds Sunny, Love Hostel, Haseen Dilruba, Dil Dhadakne Do and Half Girlfriend.
