The much-hyped Pushpa 2: The Rule is finally in the box office and fans have been unable to keep calm, ready to throng into crowded theatres and pay a hefty ticket price to catch their favourite actor, Allu Arjun on screen.

Select theatres in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Bengaluru held premieres for fans on December 4 night, ahead of the release on December 5. The movie has opened to packed theatres and is expected to break box office records. However, fans were divided on their opinions about the movie, including script and performances.

One fan took to X, saying Pushpa 2 is “gripping and entertaining watch, adding that goosebumps are guaranteed.

A viewer said the first half of Pushpa 2 is average, adding that Fahadh Faasil stole the show and Allu Arjun's entry was solid. However, the user complained about the “typical kiddish masala vibe” taking over as action scenes fall flat.

One of the spectators said Pushpa 2 is a regular commercial revenge drama that was presented in Sukumar style. The user pointed out that the first half is full of drama and breaks for interval with an interesting face-off with Fahadh Faasil, adding that the second half dragged on even after Fahadh's character was defeated.

Claiming Pushpa 2 was not up to the mark, one user said that even Pushpa 1: The Rise was just a watchable movie. The user said the makers forcefully extended the climax of Pushpa 1 and did the same thing in the sequel.

One fan said that the superbly made movie, which is better than the first part, entertains and connects emotionally with the audience but pointed out music was “weak” and the climax was scattered. Pointing out that hardwork is clearly visible in every department, the fan said both Allu Arjun and director Sukumar shine throughout the movie but Fahadh Faasil's character looked like a joker.

Another Allu Arjun fan said Pushpa 2 was a one-man show by the actor and Pushparaj is textbook for his performance. The user went on to praise the opening scene, the interval bang, the Jatara scene and the climax fight. Pointing out that the climax should have been more powerful, the user praised Fahadh's performance but pointed out that his character looked like a cartoon in a few scenes.

One viewer said Pushpa 2 lacked a strong story or screenplay, giving four stars for Allu Arjun's performance and 2.5 rating for the story.
