S.U. Arunkumar, whose last Tamil film was Chithha—starring Siddharth and Nimisha Sajayan—is gearing up with the release of his latest, Veera Dheera Sooran: Part-2. The makers released a teaser with an update of the release window. As of now, the film is slated for a January 2025 release.
The film's stellar cast comprises Vikram, Dushara Vijayan, SJ Suryah, and Suraj Venjaramoodu, among others. Interestingly, the film also features other Malayali faces like Siddique and Maala Parvathi.
The teaser footage offers an enticing glimpse of what to expect without giving anything away. Judging by the visuals, one assumes that Vikram is a family man with a mysterious past whose path crosses with gangsters who are after his life. Suraj Venjaramoodu seems to be playing a dreaded gangster, while SJ Suryah is aptly cast as a furious cop tasked with ending the chaos.
G.V. Prakash Kumar, who is coming off the success of Lucky Baskhar, Amaran, and Thangalaan, has composed the music for the film, which has Theni Eswar on the camera, Prasanna G.K. on the editing table, and C.S. Balachander in the art department.
The 'Part 2' in the title has got many curious, leading to doubts about whether it's a sequel to a pre-existing film. In reality, the choice is deliberate, as Arunkumar planned the project as a two-part film, with the second one named 'Part 1' being a prequel instead of a sequel.
S.U. Arunkumar made his debut feature a decade ago with the Vijay Sethupathi collaboration, Pannaiyarum Padminiyum. The duo worked together again in Sethupathi and Sindhubaadh. His last film, Chithha, was praised by critics and industry personalities.
