Anushka Shetty's next film as lead actor, Ghaati, will hit theatres on April 18, 2025. Anushka, director Krish Jagarlamudi, and their producers announced it via a video.
A new poster, along with the release date, is out, portraying an intense Anushka brandishing a gun, blood stains on her face, against the backdrop of the rising sun. Her character is expected to be a ferocious heroine—a tribal woman hellbent on revenge—having a dominant presence throughout the film.
The film's promo materials, accompanied by the tagline 'Victim, Criminal, Legend' give us a hint of a blood-soaked saga.
Telugu director Krish Jagarlamudi attained considerable popularity with the films Gamyam, Vedam, the National award-winning Kanche, and Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi.
The technical team of Ghaati comprises cinematographer Manojh Reddy, composer Nagavelli Vidya Sagar, art director Thota Tharrani, and Chanakya Reddy Toorupu and Venkat N Swamy on the editing. Sai Madhav Burra penned the dialogues while Ram Krishan handled the action choreography.
A big-budget entertainer, Ghaati has a script by Chintakindi Srinivas Rao. It will be a pan-Indian release, in different Indian languages, including Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi.
Rajeev Reddy and Sai Babu Jagarlamudi are bankrolling the film under First Frame Entertainment, while UV Creations is presenting it.
Anushka has previously collaborated with UV Creations thrice. She had earlier worked with Krish in Vedam, which received favorable critical acclaim. Her last appearance was in the romantic comedy, Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty, alongside Naveen Polishetty.
Aside from Ghaati, Anushka Shetty has Malayalam filmmaker Rojin Thomas's Kathanar: The Wild Sorcerer, which has Jayasurya essaying the titular character, coming up next.
