Concertgoers to Diljit Dosanjh’s latest show last night at Chandigarh were in for quite a show as the singer-songwriter-actor dedicated Saturday’s performance to the newly crowned world chess champion from India, D Gukesh.
Not only did Dosanjh celebrate Gukesh’s win, but he also enthralled fans by dropping a few quips from Allu Arjun’s latest film, Pushpa 2: The Rule. The singer also struck the iconic Pushpa pose for the audience.
Indian grandmaster Gukesh became the youngest world chess champion at just 18 years of age after usurping China’s Ding Liren on Thursday.
Dosanjh praised Gukesh’s win and congratulated him for turning his dream into reality.
The Saturday concert was part of his trending “Dil-Luminati India Tour 2024”. Dosanjh also shared a snippet from his speech on his Instagram account.
Much to the delight of the concertgoers, Dosanjh also recreated Telugu movie star Allu Arjun’s signature pose from the latest Pushpa film in the series.
After asking the audience if they happened to watch the movie, he admitted that he only saw the first film, Pushpa: The Rise, which was released in 2021.
The Hindi version of the pan-India released sequel also featured Allu Arjin’s famous line, “Jhukega nahi saala”. To this, Dosanjh replied on stage, “Saala nahi jhukega toh kya jeeja jhuk jayega?”
This week, on December 19, Dosanjh will perform at the Mumbai leg of the Dil-Luminati India Tour 2024.
