Recently, it was announced that Taapsee Pannu is reuniting with her Haseen Dillruba writer Kanika Dhillon on a new film called Gandhari. The former announced on Wednesday that she has started filming for what is being described as an action thriller.
It is directed by Devashish Makhija, whose credits include Ajji, Bhonsle, and the recent Manoj Bajpayee-starrer Joram.
Kanika Dhillon previously worked with Taapsee in Haseen Dillruba and its sequel, Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba, released in August this year. Dhillon also penned Anurag Kashyap's Manmarziyaan and Rashmi Rocket.
In an Instagram post, Pannu posted a few pictures of herself from the shoot alongside those from the set with Dhillon and Makhija. "Dear God, grant my request so that I may never deviate from doing good deeds. That I shall have no fear of the enemy when I go into battle, and with determination, I will be victorious. That, I may teach my mind to only sing your praises. And when the time comes, I should die fighting heroically on the field of battle," she wrote.
In an earlier statement, Taapsee, last seen in Khel Khel Mein, expressed her wish to get back to the action genre and that she was waiting for a script that would bring her back to it and challenge her in new ways. "After playing a spy, I was searching for something deeper, and Gandhari, with its powerful story of a mother driven by revenge, felt like the perfect fit," she said.
Gandhari was announced in September and is the second project backed by Kanika Dhillon's home banner Kathha Pictures after Do Patti, starring Kriti Sanon and Kajol.
