Taking to Instagram, the team released a statement saying that, though they are disappointed, they are grateful to the Film Federation of India (FFI) for giving them a chance to compete.
They further thanked the audience and congratulated the other 15 films for being shortlisted in the category. Concluding the statement, they wrote, “For us, this is not the end but a step forward. We remain committed to bringing more powerful stories to life and sharing them with the world. Thank you for being part of this journey.”
Indian-born British restaurateur Asma Khan commented on the post and said that the team should be proud of what they created. “The film was magical. The impact of this film will be felt for years to come. In a very rural context you told the story of the patriarchy of food which is universal- women still cook with the dietary preferences of the men in mind. Women eat after men. Everyone who worked on this film should feel so proud of what they have achieved!”
Netizens also reacted to the post, where one wrote, “This will remain the most Iconic and Important Movie ever made!!!” while another commented, “Absolutely still a winner of millions of hearts and souls! So proud of this film and everything it represents.”
