After singer Indo-Canadian musician AP Dhillon alleged that Diljit Dosanjh blocked him on Instagram, the latter clarified that he could have problems with the government but not with fellow artists.
Dhillon had earlier asked the Punjabi singer to unblock him on social media at a Chandigarh show while addressing a shoutout the former gave to Karan Aujla and AP Dhillon as they were in the process of commencing their shows in India.
During his show, AP Dhillon said, “I just want to say one small thing, brother. First, unblock me on Instagram and then talk to me. I don't want to talk about what marketing is happening, but first unblock me. I've been working for three years. Have you ever seen me in any controversy?"
Dosanjh later shared a screenshot of Dhillon's profile on his Instagram Story on Saturday night, saying he never blocked the singer. "I never blocked you. My issues can be with the government but not with artists," read the caption of his post.
Following this, AP Dhillon hit back with proof that seems to have rattled him even more. On Sunday, Dhillon posted two videos on his Instagram page: in the first, Diljit's profile is inaccessible, but visible in the second.
Known for songs such as "Brown Munde", "Insane" and "Summer High", Dhillon is on "The Brownprint" tour in India. He rose to fame after "Brown Munde" became a viral hit.
Meanwhile, Dosanjh is slated to perform next in Guwahati, on December 29, as part of his "Dil-Luminati India Tour", his concluding performance.
During the period of his tour, Dosanjh criticised the governments of different states that had directed him to refrain from singing songs with references to alcohol, drugs, and violence.
At one point, he said he could pledge to do so if the governments of each state declared themselves as 'dry states'.
