On the occasion of the one-year anniversary of Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire, filmmaker Prashanth Neel sat down for a promotional interview in which he reflected on his success and what to expect from his upcoming projects. Prashanth talked about his focus on the emotional aspects of the storytelling in the Salaar films, and its heart does not lie in the action sequences.

Salaar is not about the sword and guns; it's about the moment that drives best friends (Deva and Varadha) to become enemies. I am banking on the moment that drives them apart and the reason for what happens in part 2, (titled Shouryanga Parvam). The drama is not the same as in Ugramm (of which Salaar is an adaptation).”

He also mentioned being not fully happy with Salaar: Part 1, adding that he may have been "complacent" about the Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran-starrer after the success of Yash-starrer KGF: Chapter 2, and that he is striving to make Salaar: Part 2 better.

“I am not completely happy… I am a little disappointed with how much effort I put into the first part. Since that happened, I decided to make Salaar 2 my best film. The writing I’ve put in for Salaar 2 makes it one of my best works. I am going to make up for it, I am confident of it. It’ll unquestionably be one of my best works.”

Aside from Salaar: Part 2, Prashanth is also set to direct NTR Jr in a yet-to-be-titled film launched in August. It will hit theatres in January 2026. The director clarified that it would be a "periodic film, not a mythological film.”
