On Wednesday, filmmaker Karan Johar announced a new film with Kartik Aaryan, titled Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri, billed as a romantic comedy. To be directed by Sameer Vidwans (Satyaprem Ki Katha), it marks the first collaboration between Johar and Aaryan.

On his official Instagram handle, Johar shared a teaser of the project, slated to hit theatres in 2026. "Wrapped in romance, here comes the best Christmas gift ever from us to you! Starring Kartik Aaryan - 'Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri' is coming to cinemas in 2026. Directed by Sameer Vidwans," he posted.

Johar will produce Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri along with Adar Poonawalla and Apoorva Mehta. Shareen Mantri Kedia and Kishore Arora of Namah Pictures will also produce.

As for the reported 'feud' between Johar and Aaryan, it started doing the rounds with the reported events following their announcement of collaborating together on Dostana 2, a sequel to the 2008 hit Dostana.

Two years later, the makers revealed they were recasting for the movie amid rumours about creative differences between the Johar and Aaryan.

Apparently, Johar was working on Dostana 2 with Aaryan and had even shot a few portions with him before announcing to recast the film, triggering speculations of "unprofessional behaviour" on Kartik's side. Kartik, however, had opted to remain silent all that time.

Two years later, Karan was asked at the Melbourne Indian Film Festival about it, to which he replied that they had attempted to work together earlier but didn't work out, and they hoped to work together again.

Kartik was last seen in the hit third instalment of the Bhool Bhulaiyaa series of films.
