The re-release of Christopher Nolan's Interstellar is finally happening, the India division of Warner Bros. Pictures has confirmed. After a two-month delay, the big-scale sci-fi epic starring Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Matt Damon, and Michael Caine will get a re-release in formats including IMAX, on the occasion of its 10th anniversary.

In a statement, Denzil Dias, VP and Managing Director – India Theatrical at Warner Bros. Pictures said, “The wait is finally over. We are thrilled to announce the theatrical reissue of Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar in Indian cinemas on February 7th. This is a cinematic masterpiece that demands to be experienced on the big screen, particularly in IMAX. We invite Indian audiences to be captivated once again by its breathtaking visuals, profound exploration of humanity, and Hans Zimmer’s unforgettable score. Don’t miss this opportunity to witness cinematic history unfold.”

A poignant space epic that deals with time, age, and parenthood, Interstellar was initially expected to be re-released on December 6, 2024. However, as per reports, it was decided to postpone the date to accommodate the release of other big December releases like Pushpa 2: The Rule (also released on IMAX screens) and Mufasa: The Lion King

Now that these films are nearing the completion of their theatrical run and IMAX screens have become available, it makes sense to move Interstellar in.

The re-release of Interstellar in India is eagerly awaited, given the immense popularity Nolan enjoys in India. His last film, Oppenheimer, starring Cillian Murphy, was met with an overwhelmingly warm reception in the country.

Nolan recently announced his next big-budget project, The Odyssey, a potentially grand cinematic adaptation of the epic poem by Homer of the same name. It is headlined by Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Charlize Theron, among others.
