As per reports, the intruder, who has still not been identified, first entered the maid quarters at the back of the house. The family maid saw him, and this led to a scuffle. Saif's maids overpowered him and locked him up in the children's room. However, he managed to escape from there, after which Saif intervened. It was then that the attack happened.
Questions are also raised about how the intruder managed to evade the watchman stationed in the building. The wall behind the building is said to be not high enough.
Besides Saif, Kareena Kapoor and their kids Taimur and Jeh were at home when the incident happened. However, they all are said to be fine.
It was Saif's son Ibrahim Ali Khan who first rushed him to the Lilavati Hospital. Lilavati Hospital's COO Dr Niraj Uttamani said Saif had six stab wounds, of which two were deep. "He sustained six injuries, two are minor, two intermediate and two deep injuries, one of the injuries is on the back which is close to the spine. A neurosurgeon was involved in the surgery," Dr Uttamani told PTI.
He is said to be out of danger.
