Saif Ali Khan stabbing horror: Pooja Bhatt questions police failure; Jr NTR, Chiranjeevi wish speedy recovery

Expressing shock over the attack on Saif Ali Khan, Pooja Bhatt said it is the duty of police to create a safe environment where criminals cannot operate, pointing out that Mumbai has never been so unsafe before

After learning about the terrifying attack on Saif Ali Khan, several stars from Bollywood and other film industries reacted to the incident, expressing their shock and grief.

The actor was stabbed at least six times by the attackers on Thursday at 2.30 am.Two of the wounds are said to be deep and he was admitted to Lilavati Hospital in Bandra at 3.30 am. The hospital said Saif is out of danger after surgery.

Tagging Mumbai Police and the city police commissioner, Pooja Bhatt asked if such attack could be put to an end, adding that more police personnel should be deployed in Bandra. "The city & especially the queen of the subburbs, have never felt so unsafe before," she posted, tagging Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy CMs Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar.

In another post, Pooja asked, "We have laws. what about order?" In a third one, she questioned the inability of the police in preventing the attack. "It is law enforcements duty to create an environment in which people with a criminal bent do not feel comfortable to operate," she wrote, "The Beat officer must act as a deterrent in preventing criminal activity."

Police have formed seven teams to probe the incident. However, the investigators have ruled out any links to the threats against Salman Khan from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Last year, politician Baba Siddique was shot dead by gangsters over his support for Salman Khan in the black buck case.

Actor Neil Nitin Mukesh wished the injured star a swift recovery, praying for his family. "This is very sad indeed !! May your bravery and love for your family be rewarded with healing, strength, and peace," he added.

'RRR' star Junior NTR expressed his shock and grief after learning about the attack on the Bollywood actor. He also wished him speedy recovery.

Kunal Kohli also reacted to the "scary" attack, praying for the actor's health while Chiranjeevi said he was "deeply disturbed" by the incident.
