Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has unveiled the much-anticipated first-look poster of his role as Lord Shiva in the upcoming Mukesh Kumar Singh directorial Kannappa. This marks Kumar’s Telugu debut and will be his second time portraying the Hindu deity after OMG 3 (2023).
The poster features the actor performing Shiva Thandavam on a rock, holding a trishul (trident) on his right hand and a damru (small hand drum) on his left.

The caption on the poster reads, “The supreme lord who rules over the three worlds surrenders himself to pure devotion.”
The Hera Pheri actor expressed in the caption that he is “honoured to bring this epic tale to life,” and sought the blessings of Lord Shiva to guide the team on their "divine journey".

About Kannappa
Kannappa is a mythological film that stars Vishnu Manchu in the titular role as a loyal devotee of Lord Shiva. Produced under the 24 Frames Factory banner, the teaser for the film was released in 2024 at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, building the anticipation of the release.
The film also stars Mohan Babu, R. Sarathkumar, Madhoo, and Mukesh Rishi, with cameo appearances expected from big-name stars like Mohanlal, Prabhas, and Kajal Aggarwal.
Kannappa is scheduled to be released on April 25, 2025.
