'Thalapathy 69': Vijay's next with H. Vinoth titled 'Jana Nayagan'

Vijay had earlier informed fans that 'Jana Nayagan' would be his last film before he retires from acting. His previous film was 'The Greatest of All Time' with director Venkat Prabhu

On the occasion of Republic Day, the makers of Tamil superstar Vijay announced the title of his next, earlier tentatively titled 'Thalapathy 69'. The H.Vinoth directorial has been named Jana Nayagan

The first-look poster, which has Vijay taking a selfie on an elevated platform as jubilant white-clad members of a political party raise their fists in the air, confirms that the film will be of a political nature.

The film is said to be Vijay's last film before he retires from acting, as announced in 2024. The Mersal and Thuppakki actor formed his own party called 'Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam'. The actor said Venkat Prabhu's The Greatest of All Time and Jana Nayagan would be his last projects.

Produced by KVN Productions, Jana Nayagan is written and directed by H. Vinoth. Aside from Vijay, the ensemble cast comprises Pooja Hegde (reuniting with Vijay after Beast), Bobby Deol (his second Tamil film after Kanguva), Gautham Vasudev Menon (second film with Vijay after Leo), Prakash Raj, Narain, Priyamani, Mamitha Baiju, Monisha Blessy and Varalakshmi Sarathkumar.

Interestingly, the film is a dream come true for Malayalam actor Mamitha Baiju, of Premalu fame, as she has professed her admiration for Vijay in her earlier interviews.

Jana Nayagan will have music by Anirudh. It marks the composer's fifth and final project with Vijay after Kaththi, Master, Beast and Leo.

Sathyan Sooryan, who helmed the camera for H. Vinoth's Theeran Adhigaram Ondru and Lokesh Kanagaraj's Master, is the director of photography. Pradeep E Raghav handles editing duties.
