Ibrahim Ali Khan and Khushi Kapoor’s rom-com ‘Nadaaniyan’ gets release date

The new promo released by Netflix for ‘Nadaaniyan’ features a surprise blast-from-the-past from Karan Johar’s ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’, posing a familiar question to the main characters played by debutant Ibrahim Ali Khan and Khushi Kapoor

Miss Briganza poses a question: “What is love?” Initially asked to Rahul and Anjali in Karan Johar’s Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, the English teacher asks the same question yet again 27 years later to Pia and Arjun in Johar’s upcoming Dharmatic Entertainment-backed film Nadaaniyan.

Marking the debut of Ibrahim Ali Khan on the big and bright Bollywood screen, Netflix released a new promo for the upcoming film, also starring Khushi Kapoor. While the promo features a blast-from-the-past professor, it also reveals the release date of the film – March 7.

The official synopsis for the film reads: "Hire him as her fake boyfriend to save her squad. But when real feelings crash their party, can they handle the mess of falling in love?" Khan stars as Arjun Mehta, a middle-class overachiever, and Kapoor takes the role of Pia Jai Singh, a South Delhi diva. The film’s promo shows Arjun explaining what love is, describing it as an “an arrangement”. It seems that this “arrangement” is what sets the premise of the film, as Pia transfers him a hefty sum for honouring an unknown agreement, teasing fans to watch the film to find out more.

Directed by Shauna Gautam, the film also features Mahima Chaudhary, Suniel Shetty, Dia Mirza, Jugal Hansraj and Palki Jain.

Kapoor, who has been starring in rom-coms after rom-coms, earlier this month played the lead role in Advait Chandan’s Loveyapa, alongside Junaid Khan. A remake of Tamil film Love Today, the film was a box office dud, earning only Rs 6 crore against a Rs 60 crore budget.
