The 25th International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA) took place on March 8 and 9 in Jaipur, honouring the best in Indian cinema in 2025. Kiran Rao’s Laapataa Ladies, which was India’s official submission to the Oscars this year, emerged victorious, taking home ten awards, including Best Picture.
The ceremony, marking its Silver Jubilee this year, also featured a celebration for Ramesh Sippy’s Sholay, which celebrates its 50th anniversary of release. Actress Kareena Kapoor Khan also paid tribute to her grandfather Raj Kapoor in recognition of his 100 years in cinema.
