Fans will have to wait a little longer for Shashank Khaitan’s directorial Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, after its release date was postponed by a mere five months, a new date set for September 12. The film, which was originally set to hit the screens on April 18, stars Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor in lead roles.

Though the reason for the delay has not been disclosed, fans are excited to see Dhawan and Kapoor share the screen again after Nitesh Tiwari’s Bawaal in 2023. The film will fall in the rom-com genre and feature a stellar supporting cast – Sanya Malhotra, Rohit Saraf, Maniesh Paul, and Akshay Oberoi.

The project is produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Shashank Khaitan under the banner of Dharma Productions.

Varun Dhawan is a busy man this year. Not only is the actor gearing up for the release of Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, he also has another film lined up for this year, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, directed by his father David Dhawan. In addition, the actor is also currently shooting for J.P. Dutta’s Border 2, a sequel to the 1997 war film Border. Sunny Deol is set to reprise his role as Major Kuldip.

Janhvi Kapoor also has her hands full. Her film Param Sundari, co-starring Siddharth Malhotra, is scheduled to premiere on July 25. The film, mostly shot along Kerala’s backwaters, is helmed by Tushar Jalota. The actress is also in the middle of shooting for RC 16, a tentatively titled sports drama film by Buchi Babu Sana, also starring Ram Charan.
