A month after its theatrical release, Pradeep Ranganathan-starrer Dragon will make its OTT debut this week. Streaming platform Netflix announced today (March 18), that the film will be available for viewing from March 21, perfect for those who missed out on the theatrical experience.
Dragon is a coming-of-age film that follows the life of Ragavan, a straight-A student-turned-bad boy, who adopts the name of Dragon. Searching for immediate monetary gratification, he forges a degree that lands him a high-paying job while struggling to clear his college exam backlogs. However, instances make him realise that his illegal actions have life-threatening consequences and attempts to amend his ways. The film, helmed and penned by Ashwath Marimuthu, also stars Anupama Parameswaran, Kayadu Lohar, Mysskin, Gautham Vasudev Menon, and K. S. Ravikumar.
Discussions of Ranganathan playing the main role in the film emerged in late 2023 when he was contacted by his old friend Marimuthu. The film was tentatively titled #PradeepAshwathCombo and #AGS26, until Dragon was revealed to the world on May 2024, when the principal photography began in Chennai.
The film had its theatrical release on February 21 of this year and earned positive reviews. The music for the film was composed by Leon James, who had previously collaborated with Marimuthu in all his prior projects like Oh My Kadavule and Ori Devuda.
Bankrolled by AGS Entertainment, the film minted a reported Rs 150 crore against a budget of Rs 37 crore, making it the highest grossing Tamil film of the year 2025, surpassing Ajith Kumar’s Vidaamuyarchi.
Dragon will be available on Netflix in Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.
