Satish Salian, the father of Disha Salian, has moved the court seeking a fresh investigation into his daughter's death in 2020, which was previously labelled a suicide. Disha was the former manager of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
According to PTI, Satish approached the Bombay High Court and submitted a petition which requested an FIR against Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray and a transfer of probe to the CBI.

Satish's lawyer Nilesh Ojha revealed that the petition was still in the process of getting filed, and expected it to be numbered at the HC registry by Thursday.
The grieving father believes that, though his daughter's death was deemed as a suicide, there was foul play involved and alleges that Disha was brutally raped and murdered, and the suicide was just a cover-up. "The Mumbai police hastily closed the death as a case of suicide or accidental death without taking into account forensic evidence, circumstantial proof and eyewitness testimonies," the plea reads.

Shiv Sena spokesperson Kishori Pednekar struck back at the plea, claiming conspiracy behind the intention of bringing up a nearly five-year-old case. "Someone is behind it, and there is a conspiracy. How come this matter has come under the spotlight after more than four years? The CID conducted an enquiry, there is already an SIT (formed to probe the matter)," Pednekar said.
Meanwhile, BJP minister Nitesh Rane strongly advocated the investigation of Thackeray, a former Maharashtra minister. "Aaditya Thackeray should speak the truth. He should resign as an MLA and face the probe," Rane told reporters. Rane also brought up the question of the disappearance of the CCTV footage in Disha's apartment building at the time of her death, as well as the torn pages of the visitor's log.
Tension has existed between the Rane and Thackery families ever since Nitesh's father, former Maharashtra Chief Minister Narayan Rane, left the Shiv Sena after falling out with Uddhav Thackeray.
Disha Salian's death
Disha was found dead on June 8, 2020, after falling off the 14th floor of a residential building in suburban Malad. She was 28 years old. The city police initially registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) case.
