“No, Shanu (Fahadh) is not in the film, and neither is Tom Cruise, by the way,” Prithviraj clarified. Speculation around Fahadh's potential cameo grew when L2: Empuraan's lead actor Mohanlal posted a photo of himself with Fahadh and Prithviraj, with the caption "With Zayed Masood and Ranga" referring to Prithviraj's character in L2: Empuraan Fahadh's character in Aavesham, respectively.
"Fahadh Faasil in Empuraan?" one user commented, while another wrote, "Zayed is wearing the same costume from the pic he posted about Empuraan final cut.. Something fishy."
Elaborating on the casting process, Prithviraj explained, “I have to tell you that when we started casting for Lucifer 2, we obviously had a wishlist of actors. Initially, I had some big names in mind and managed to connect with really renowned actors from the American, British, and Chinese film industries.”

“Nine out of ten people I reached out to gave me the liberty of getting on a call and were very keen on collaborating on an Indian movie, especially this particular film. But when agents come in, they try to get the most money for their actors. Unfortunately, I was particular about how much I could spend on this film,” Prithviraj said, making sure that his funds were directed to the production of the film itself.
L2: Empuraan will hit theatres on March 27, available in Malayalam, Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, and Kannada. Besides Mohanlal and Prithviraj, the film also stars Tovino Thomas, Indrajith, and Manju Warrier.
