Sonali Sood, wife of actor and philanthropist Sonu Sood, met with a major road accident on Monday night. The accident occurred at 10:30 pm on the Mumbai-Nagpur highway, where Sonali, her sister-in-law, and her nephew were travelling. Her nephew was behind the wheel at the time of the accident. The cause of the crash is unknown at this time.
Now, Sonu has given an update on his wife’s medical status. In a statement to the Hindustan Times, he said, “She is doing fine. By God’s grace, she is doing good now.”

On Tuesday, the hospital where Sonali, her sister-in-law, and her nephew are being treated issued a statement. It reads: “Mrs Sonali Sood, her sister and nephew were brought to the Emergency Department of Max Hospital, Nagpur at approximately 10:30 PM last night [on Monday]. They had allegedly been in a road traffic accident. All three patients were conscious upon arrival and had stable vital signs. They had sustained multiple abrasions and bruises and were thoroughly evaluated for any internal injuries, none of which were found. Her nephew was discharged after first aid. Mrs Sonali Sood and her sister remain under observation and are recovering well. Their condition is stable.”
Sonali, who hails from the southern state of Andhra Pradesh, tied the knot with Sonu in 1996. The couple share two sons, Ayaan and Ishant. Unlike many Bollywood couples, they keep a low profile out in public as well as on social media. The pair collaborated in Sonu’s directorial debut Fateh, a film he also penned and starred in. Sonali was credited as one of the producers of the film.
