The Bishnoi gang has placed a target on Salman Khan’s back for some time now. It started in 1998 when Khan was accused of killing two blackbucks in the Kankani village near Jodhpur in 1998 during the shooting of the film Hum Saath Saath Hain. The blackbuck is considered sacred by the Bishnoi gang so naturally, the poaching did not sit well with them.
The situation intensified over the last two years with repeated death threats received by the actor, targeting his home and friends. In April of last year, shots were fired outside Khan’s Galaxy Apartment located in Bandra, Mumbai. Anmol Bishnoi, the younger brother of Lawrence Bishnoi, claimed responsibility for the attack. Later, Khan’s close friend and politician Baba Siddique was assassinated by the gang on October 12.

Now, Khan, who has since upgraded to Y+ security, has spoken up about the threats. At a press event for his upcoming film Sikandar, the 59-year-old actor said, "Bhagwan, Allah sab unpar hai. Jitni umar likhi hai, utni likhi hai. Bas yahi hai. Kabhi kabhi itne logo ko sath mein leke chalna padta hai, bas wahi dikkat aa jati hai. (God, Allah are watching everything. What is written, is written. That’s it. Sometimes, I have so many people along with me, and that is what causes a problem).”

Explaining that his shooting schedule is surrounded by heavy security, he disclosed that he shuttles back and forth between the studio and the residence. "No, it's not when I'm with the press. It's when I'm without the press, that cramps my style. No, obviously not. I cannot do anything. It's from my residence Galaxy to shoot, and then back home after the shoot. No detours," the actor said.
