Nearly three weeks after he uploaded social media posts hinting at unhappiness in the RJD, Tej Pratap Yadav, the older son of party supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav, on Monday alleged the BJP and RSS had hacked his Facebook account to create a rift in his family and weaken the party.
Tej Pratap's claim came an hour after a post appeared on his verified Facebook account on Monday night in which he threatened to quit politics. In the post, which has since been deleted, Tej Pratap criticised two RJD leaders—Om Prakash Yadav and Subodh Rai—whom he alleged were belittling his abilities in the party.
The two leaders are perceived to be close to Lalu and his wife Rabri Devi. Tej Pratap also claimed in the deleted post that he had complained about the two leaders to his parents, but his mother only responded by scolding him. Tej Pratap wrote that if the situation continued, he would leave politics and added that he knew Om Prakash would contest from Mahua, the constituency Tej Pratap currently represents.
As the post created flutters, Tej Pratap quickly posted in his social media accounts that his Facebook account had been hacked by the BJP and RSS and he alleged it was an attempt by “uncle” (subtle reference to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar) and the BJP to weaken his party.
"Upon hacking of my Facebook account, they came up with a post aimed at creating a rift within my family and weakening our party Some time ago, an RSS supporter had also hacked the Facebook page of my father," he said in his post. Tej Pratap again reiterated his commitment to the party and his younger brother, Tejashwi, who currently runs the party. He described Tejashwi as a “piece of his heart”.
On June 9, Tej Pratap had uploaded social media posts hinting at his unhappiness at the way the RJD was being run, alleging anti-social elements had entered the party under Tejashwi's leadership. On that occasion too, Tej Pratap 'clarified' that he was committed to the party and warned the BJP and RSS against trying to exploit the situation.
