AIADMK MP S. Rajendran was killed in an accident in Tamil Nadu's Villupuram district early morning on Saturday. The accident happened at 6am near Tindivanam in Villupuram. The accident happened after the car Rajendran was travelling hit the centre median of the road.
The Villupuram MP was returning to Vanur after attending the dinner hosted by PMK leader Ramadoss at Thailapuram. The accident was so bad that the car, Toyota Etios, toppled, causing grievous injuries to him, the driver and two others in the vehicle, The News Minute said in a report quoting the Tindivanam police.

All the four injured were taken to the nearest hospital, where Rajendran passed away. Rajendran suffered severe head injury. The other three injured are currently undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Rajendran won the Lok Sabha elections in 2014 after defeating DMK's Dr Muthian.
