A woman from Kerala was among the 49 victims killed in a terror attack in New Zealand on Friday. Ancy, a 23-year-old M Tech student in an agricultural university, went to the country a year ago. Her husband, Nazar, escaped unhurt.
Two other Indians were hurt in the attack that targeted two mosques in Christchurch.
At least nine people of Indian origin were missing, Indian high commissioner Sanjeev Kohli tweeted.
Ancy was a native of Kodungallur while her husband is from Madavana near Kochi.
Ahmed Iqbal Jahangeer from Hyderabad and Mehboob Khokar from Ahmedabad have been injured. Jahangeer is a hotelier in Christchurch while Khokar is visiting his son.
